What's new
Everything that's landed in Tavern lately, newest first. The big ones also ring the bell in the app.
November 2026
Remote players at every table
Improved · Nov 2
Cameras and voices are switched on for every table now, and for every new one from the moment it is made.
- The video call is in the avatar menu inside a campaign.
- Anybody with a seat can open the room, and the GM runs it.
Choose who's on the Master HUD
Improved · Nov 2
GMs can take a character off the Master HUD and put them back, so a one-shot doesn't stay on screen for the next session.
- The eye on a character's card takes them off the Master HUD.
- Party, at the top of the Master HUD, lists everybody standing at the table with a switch to put them back.
- Nothing else changes: their sheet, their player and the journal stay as they are.
Your tables and your settings, on one page
Improved · Nov 2
Campaigns and Settings are now one page, Account & Settings, and it opens on your tables.
- Tables shows seats waiting on you, the campaigns you own and the ones somebody else runs, in one list.
- Each table opens with a tap, and Your seat at the end of its row holds your name, portrait and colour there.
- Your level and your plan sit down the side, beside the rest of your settings.
Tavern in your AI assistant, and an API
New · Nov 2
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client to your tables, or build your own tools with an API key.
- An MCP server at gettavern.app/mcp: add it to your assistant, approve it on a Tavern page, and ask it to recap a session, start a wiki page or set up a fight.
- A REST API over the same calls the app makes: sessions, notes, the wiki, maps, characters, battles, notifications and your Tavern Level.
- A key or a connected app is you, at the tables you sit at, and no more. Read, write and delete are separate, and other people's private notes are never served.
- Make and revoke keys, and see every connected app, in Settings.
One page for your settings
Improved · Nov 2
Your account, your profile, how you look at each table, notifications, your plan and the theme now live on one Settings page.
- Change your password, copy your account ID, and see which version of the Terms you agreed to.
- Every table you sit at in one list, with your name, portrait and colour at each.
- Opened from the menu under your avatar, which now takes you to the table you were at.
Your own maps
New · Nov 2
GMs can add their table's own maps: upload a picture on the Map tab and everybody at the table can pin it.
- Add as many maps as the table needs, each a tab of its own.
- Rename, reorder or remove them from the Map tab.
- Places, notes and where things happened, pinned the same way as before.
- The table hears about a new map in the bell.
Notifications, and this page
New · Nov 2
A bell in the top bar now collects what happened at your tables while you were away.
- Wiki pages added or edited, new session notes, sessions Lorekeeper finished writing up, seats offered and taken, characters handed to you.
- Five edits to one page before you look are one line, not five.
- Unread count on the bell, mark one or all as read, and switch off any kind you'd rather not hear about.
- The pop-up toasts for wiki edits are gone. The same news waits in the bell instead.
- Big releases, like this one, ring the bell for everybody once.
October 2026
Send feedback from anywhere
New · Oct 28
A small bubble in the corner takes a bug, an idea or anything else, and our answer comes back to it.
- Pick bug, idea or other, write a line, send.
- The Yours tab shows what you sent and what we said back, with a dot when there's an answer.
- Also in the account menu as Send feedback.
Tighter security
Improved · Oct 21
Every page now goes out with stricter browser security headers, and known issues in our dependencies are cleared.
September 2026
Pictures in notes
New · Sep 22
Paste, drop or upload a picture into any note, and it sits in the session where it was posted.
- Works in session notes, wiki pages, map pins and private notes alike.
- A post that's only pictures is drawn as the pictures, full width.
The full skills table
New · Sep 22
Every skill on a synced sheet, with proficiency marks, the bonus, and a tap to roll it.
- Hover a bonus to see the sum behind it.
- Languages, armor, weapons and tools as chips underneath.
- Folded away at the foot of the sheet header until you want it.
One row of characters
Improved · Sep 21
Every character you hold sits in one row above the sheet, with the one in hand and its companions grouped together.
- Your primary wears a gold star; any other can be made primary from its own chip.
- One + at the end adds a character or a companion.
Attune in the app
New · Sep 21
Attune an item from its own sheet, and every card it grants lights up without a trip anywhere else.
Better on phones and tablets
Improved · Sep 21
A sweep of every screen at phone and tablet sizes, with overflow menus where buttons used to crowd.
Hover a link to preview the page
New · Sep 18
Rest a pointer on a [[link]] in any note and the wiki page's card opens over it.
Remote players
New · Sep 17
Cameras and voices for whoever isn't at the table, peer to peer, with a mixer built for a room full of people.
- Tiles follow you around the app and snap into the Combat Tracker.
- Push to talk, a volume per seat, and voice effects.
- Off by default, and switched on per table.
Blank Slate: design the sheet
New · Sep 4
Build a character sheet of any shape, with your own numbers, skills, lists, dice and sums, and keep it at the table for the next player.
Faces and covers for wiki pages
New · Sep 2
Give any wiki page a face that follows its name everywhere, and a cover across the top of the page.
Promo codes
New · Sep 1
Redeem a code from the account menu for time on Lorekeeper.
